Fee questions
Who sets notary fees in Texas?
The State of Texas sets the maximum fee a notary public may charge for each notarial act in Government Code section 406.024. Notable Notary never charges more than those limits for the notarial act itself.
Why is there a separate travel fee for mobile appointments?
The state fee covers the notarial act, not the drive. A mobile visit includes travel time and mileage across DFW, so Notable Notary quotes a travel fee before the appointment and you agree to it before booking.
Do you charge if the notarization cannot be completed?
If a mobile appointment cannot go ahead because a signer is missing, has no acceptable ID or the document is incomplete, the travel fee may still apply. Check the what-to-bring list before the visit.
