Wills & Estate-Related Documents in DFW

Self-proving affidavits, trusts, estate and end-of-life documents.

What this service covers

Estate documents are personal, and the signing should feel that way. Notable Notary notarizes self-proving affidavits, trust documents and related estate papers with patience and privacy, at your home, a care facility or the office.

Notable Notary does not draft wills or trusts. Please work with an estate planning attorney on the documents themselves.

  • Self-proving affidavits attached to a will
  • Trust certifications and trust documents
  • Small estate and heirship affidavits prepared for you
  • Advance directives and medical directives
  • Transfer on death deeds

What to bring

A few minutes of preparation keeps the appointment short. Here is what every signing needs.

  • The documents prepared by your attorney or from a trusted source, unsigned
  • A current photo ID for each signer
  • Witnesses with ID if your documents require them
  • Your attorney’s signing instructions, if you have them

How it works

  1. Plan the signing

Tell me who is signing and whether witnesses are needed so the appointment is set up correctly.

  2. Private and unhurried

There is time to read each page. I never rush an estate signing.

  3. Signatures and seal

Signers and witnesses sign in front of me, and I complete the certificates.

  4. Recorded

Each act is entered in my journal for the record.

Common questions

All questions

Does a will need to be notarized in Texas?

A will does not have to be notarized to be valid, but a self-proving affidavit, which is signed before a notary with the witnesses, can make probate simpler. Your attorney can tell you whether to include one.

Can you come to a nursing facility for an estate signing?

Yes. Book a mobile appointment and let the facility know a notary is visiting. The signer must be alert and able to understand the documents.
